THE DUDE’S CREDENTIAL
The story, experience, and creative journey behind El Paso Dude Marketing.
-
Before the Dude became a full-time marketing machine, I spent 12 years in TV news, bouncing between multiple El Paso stations and learning every part of the craft — especially photojournalism. It taught me how to tell real stories, move fast, stay creative, and capture moments that actually matter.
-
After news, I jumped into the world of station branding and promotions, where I spent 13 years leading creative strategy for local CBS and FOX affiliates. I produced promos, directed campaigns, shaped on-air identity, managed marketing teams, and helped guide each station’s overall visual direction.

Director of Communications — El Pasoans Fighting Hunger
Most recently, I led communications for EPFH, where I:
Directed a full nonprofit rebrand
Created award-winning marketing campaigns
Produced storytelling content that strengthened community support
Managed PR, media relations, and press coordination
Oversaw digital, web, and content strategy during major community moments
-
Along the way, the Dude brought home some shiny stuff:
Edward R. Murrow Awards
Emmy Award Nominations
Associated Press Awards
Muse International Awards
Communicator Awards
These awards reflect decades of understanding how to communicate clearly, creatively, and effectively. Skills I now bring directly into every membership.
